Rowers
Henning Gjertsen
Class of 2025 at Olympia High School. Before rowing Henning played soccer and raced with the White Pass Junior Nordic Team. He now teaches Nordic skiing. Other hobbies include playing violin and backpacking. Henning started rowing Spring season of his Freshman year. He qualified for Youth Nationals 2023 placing in the B final of u17 4x. He was back at Youth Nationals also in 2024. His goals are to continue rowing into college and major in Marketing. Fun fact about Henning is that he was born in Norway and came to the US in the 3rd grade.
Rowan Greenaway
Class of 2025 at Olympia High School. Rowan played multiple sports including basketball, baseball and soccer before discovering rowing in 6th grade. Some of his hobbies outside the sport include skiing, mountain biking, camping, and being a cheese connoisseur. Rowan’s rowing career consists of 6 years, one regional win, and three consecutive trips to Youth Nationals. A fun fact about Rowan is that he’s reached 73 mph on skis.
Griffin Nethercott
Class of 2025 at North Mason High School. Griffin is doing running start at Olympic College and plans to graduate with an Associates in Business. His hobbies include golfing (playing in multiple local tournaments), rock climbing, hiking, and basketball where he was a team captain freshman and sophomore year. Griffin is also Student Body President at his high school. Goals for rowing is to go as fast as possible and as far as possible, hoping to row in college. Fun fact: Griffin lived in the Philippines for 5 years.
Hayden Webb
Class of 2028 at Olympia High School. Prior to taking an interest in rowing, he played soccer for 4 years and maintains a nearly rabid enthusiasm for mountain biking and has a burgeoning crush on snowboarding. With two years of rowing under his belt, he’s excited to try rowing competitively and see where it leads. Fun fact about Hayden is that he sleeps with his eyes half open.
